Albert J. Demers, 88, of Menominee passed away on Thursday, April 25 at the Luther Home in Marinette.
Born on Feb. 12, 1925 to the late Arthur and Mabel (Ebsch) Demers in Menominee, he graduated from St. Annes School and Our Lady of Lourdes.
After graduation he worked in maintenance at St. Annes School and Church, Holy Spirit Catholic Church and the Menominee Tourist Lodge. He enjoyed being in the Catholic Foresters, LifeCore, the Historical Society and was an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary.
Surviving are three sisters, Louise Demers of Menominee and Sister Muriel and Sister Humbeline, both of Manitowoc; two brothers, Harlan Demers and Claude (Vivian) Demers, both of Menominee and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Earl, Richard and his twin brother, Arthur and a sister, Pearl Demers.
Visitation took place at the Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home on Sunday, April 28 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A Rosary service was conducted by the Legion of Mary at 6 p.m. followed by a Vigil prayer service at 6:30 p.m. with Deacon Vincent Beckley presiding. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated, for the repose of the soul on Monday, April 29 at 11 a.m. at Resurrection Church with Fr. Michael Chenier presiding. Burial was at Riverside Cemetery Menominee.
