Wausaukee Golfers Win 9-Hole M-O Tournament
With a trio of golfers posting scores in the 40s, Wausaukee claimed the M-O Conference 9-hole tournament at Golden Sands in Gillett on Thursday, May 2. The Rangers carded a round of 188 followed by Peshtigo 198, STAA 199, Suring and Niagara 201, Crivitz 218, Lena 219, Coleman 231 and Gillett 236.
Brandon Wesolowski paced the Rangers with a 44, Wyatt Tilkens 45, Logan Gruszynski 48 and Blake Elias 51.
Mitchell Behnke fired a 44 for Peshtigo, Jordan VanBeek 48, Marcus Behnke 51 and Levi Sterzing 55.
Casey Boyle put together a medalist round of 41 for STAA, Levi Carlson 51, Mike Schmidt 53 and Stuart Anderson 54.
TJ Liebergen shot 46 for Niagara, Colin Anderson and Zach Zychowski 49, Joey Coppens 57.
Suring was paced by Anthony Jazwiecki with a 45, Taylor Fisher 48, Ramsey Thompson 53 and Dalton Kopatz 55.
Crivitz scores were Trevor Maye 50, David Poh 54, Blaine Bauer 56, Austin Banaszak and Matt Tomaszewski 58.
Blaik Fischer and Sam Beschta topped Lena with 51 and 55, Alex Tisler carded a 50 for Coleman while Kelsey Hischke shot 53 to lead Gillett.
STAA Golfers Third At
Home Invitational Thurs.
Despite some cold and windy conditions, the 2013 STAA Invitational was played at Riverside Golf Course in Menominee with 11 teams entered. Bonduel claimed the title with a score of 379 followed by Menominee 384, STAA and Wausaukee 389, Marinette jayvees 398, Peshtigo and Coleman 414, Crivitz 443, Lena 468, Suring 470 and Gillett 526.
Tyler Kurowski of Bonduel was medalist with an 83 (44-39) with Mitchell Behnke of Peshtigo second at 85 (39-46), Mike Schmidt, STAA 87 (44-43), Wyatt Tilkens, Wausaukee 87 (44-43) and Ben Shoup of Bonduel 89 (44-45).
Runner-up Menominee was paced by Sam Schewe 92 (43-49), Riley Hegg 97 (48-49), Landon Maccoux 97 (48-49) and Channing Modschiedler 98.
Following Schmidt for the Cavaliers were Casey Boyle and Andy Lang with 97s, Shane Anderson 108 and Molly Linczeski 125.
Wausaukee scores were Tilkens 87, Brandon Wesolowski 97, Blake Elias 101, Logan Gruszynski 104 and Eric Arndt 134.
Leading the Marinette jayvees were Brad Grewey 93 (47-46), Brendon Kriedeman 97, Alex McQuenney 99, Brett Roehm 105 and Mike Nighbor 109.
Peshtigo rounds included Mitchell Behnke 85, Marcus Behnke 94, Levi Sterzing 109, Jacoby Enderby 126 and Jeffrey Bruso 149.
Rickie Giemer topped Coleman with a 95 (47-48), Alex Tissler 99, Dan Pillath 104, Brandon Rymer 116 and Jacob Woulf 130.
Trevor Maye posted the top score for Crivitz at 97, David Poh 104, Matt Tomaszewski 109 and Blaine Bamer 133.
Cole Huberty fired a 111 for Lena, Sam Beschta 117, Blaik Fischer 118 and Brett Simonson 122.
Top golfer for Suring was Anthony Jazwiecki with a 99 (49-50), Taylor Fisher 116, Ramsay Thompson 126 and Dalton Kopatz 129.
Kelsey Hischke recorded a 122 for Gillett, Bailey Chapin 129, Melissa Meunier 131 and Cody May 142.
With Blaine Bauer and freshman Trevor Maye sharing medalist honors, Crivitz claimed a home golf triangular at Hunters Glen. The Wolverines totaled a score of 184 followed by Suring 212 and Gillett 217.
Rounding out the Crivitz scores were Austin Banaszak 46, Matt Tomaszewski 50 and Zach Myszka 51.
Anthony Jazwiecki topped Suring with a 47 while Bailey Chapin fired a 51 for Gillett.

Bulldogs To Win
Mitchell and Marcus Behnke carded rounds of 41 and 43 as Peshtigo totaled 197 to slip past Crivitz 205 and Suring 222 Monday at Little River. Jordan VanBeek added a 51 for the Bulldogs and Levi Sterzing 62.
Austin Banaszak and Trevor Maye fired 47 and 49 for Crivitz while Anthony Jazwiecki shot 44 for Suring.
