Dennis L. Tachick
Dennis L. Tachick, 95, of Powers, MI passed away on Wednesday, May 1 at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers.
He was born Feb. 23, 1918 in Pound, son of the late John and Minnie (Dora) Tachick. He grew up in Kingsford, Mich. and graduated from Kingsford High School in 1935. He retired after working more than 41 years in the rural electrification field. His work included 11 years in office and field positions with the Rural Electrification Administration and 30 years with the former Eastern Illinois Power Cooperative in Paxton, Ill. where he served as General Manager for 23 years. He and his late wife, Audrey, were active, long-time members in the Covenant Church, both in Paxton, Ill. and Iron Mountain, Mich. He was an avid fisherman and in retirement in Iron Mountain, could be found most days on the Peavy backwaters, fishing pole in hand.
Survivors include a son, Dennis; a daughter, Carol; three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey, and grandson, Christopher.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 7, from noon to 1 pm at the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Funeral service followed at 1 pm at the funeral home. Rev. Peter Erickson officiated and brial was in the Pound Cemetery.
The family has entrusted the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home of Iron Mountain with funeral arrangements.
