Jeff Diges Memorial Bike Run June 29, Hold Pool Tourney
The Jeff Diges Memorial Bike Run is scheduled for June 29 at Gateway Bar and Grill, Hwy. 141 & W in Crivitz at 11 a.m. Registration is $20 and takes place from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. T-shirts and route maps will be available at registration. The $20 donation includes a commemorative feather pin and a chance to win one of several great prizes.
First prize is a guided fishing trip with pro guide Rick Godager, second prize is a flat screen TV, third is a mystery gift worth $100. Events planned for the day are a bike drop at the Wild Wolf Inn, White Lake. Only 100 tickets at $10 each will be available for a chance to win one of three prizes of a $500 VVHD gift certificate, a $50 Gateway gift card, and bottle of Jack.
There will also be a Weenie Bite contest at Gateway with $10 per attempt to win the magnificent Weenie Bite Custom Trophy. This is an extremely entertaining and fun event.
There will also be basket raffles, 50/50 cash raffles and rider prizes.
All proceeds go to the Jeff Diges Memorial Scholarship Fund, Inc., a non-profit (501)(c)(3) providing scholarships to Crivitz High School graduates for higher education. In the past two years, 10 grads received $1000 each and since the last seven years a total of 23 grads have benefitted from the Jeff Diges Memorial Scholarship Fund.
The Dinner Bike Run and Pool Tournaments are the major funding sources. Area businesses and individuals have been faithful supporters in the way of T-shirts, bike run and tournament sponsors. All board and event members are strictly volunteers. All donations and participants are appreciated and help to build a stronger and more educated community.
The Digger Memorial Pool Tournament is slated for May 18 at the Gateway Bar & Grill, Hwy. 141 & W in Crivitz. Registration is noon to 1 p.m. with tourney starts at 1 p.m.
First prize is a cash payout, 2nd is a Players cue sick and case, and 3rd is a custom cue stick. There will also be bonus prizes.
The entry fee is $25. A non-profit organization (501)(c)(3) classified as as public charity, proceeds benefit the Jeff Diges Memorial Scholarship Fund, Inc. (JDMSF). Scholarships are presented each year to Crivitz High School graduates with financial need for college or technical school. The past two years, 10 graduates received $1000 each from the fund. This years recipients will be announced at graduation on May 18.
Digger 8 ball tournament was held on April 7 sponsored by Lakeside Bar & Grill in Athelstane. First place winner of $200 was Ricky Lubinski, second place went to Hunter Nystrom of Amberg for a cue stick and case, and third was a cue stick to Andy Brann.
Several participants got t-shirts and gift certificates donated by Keith and Nola, owners of Lakeside.
Those in charge thank everyone who helped in anyway for successful events.
