THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Wausaukee Blood Drive is June 10
Issue Date: May 16, 2013
The Wausaukee Lions and Leos Clubs will hold a Red Cross Blood Drive on Monday, June 10th at the Wausaukee Legion Hall from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. Donors will help students raise scholarship money for next years graduating seniors. During the summer there is a great need for blood due to vacations and traveling more on the roads. One donation can save many lives.
This year a total of $1500 in scholarships will go to graduating seniors. To make an appointment call Barb at 715-759-5747 or 715-927-5213. They will also have aphaeresis donations where it takes a little longer, but what you give counts as two pints. Red blood cells are separated and you are given your plasma back.
Eat a healthy diet and drink plenty of fluids during the days before donating. People on medications can give, just call and check them out or come and they can clear them. Diabetics are also able to give blood. To help call Barb Kolosowski.
