Dolores F. Berger, 83, of Niagara died Saturday, May 18 at Maryhill Manor in Niagara.
Born on July 14, 1929 in Niagara, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes (Genrich) Saler. She graduated from Niagara High School and married Donald W. Berger on Sept. 20, 1947 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Niagara. He preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 1977.
Her family was very important to her and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She will be remembered as a jokester, who enjoyed a good laugh. She enjoyed knitting, gardening, canning, feeding the birds and deer, and doing plastic canvas and other crafts. She also participated in the Shawl Ministry at the Niagara Senior Center.
She is survived by four children, Noreen (Richard) Brown of Gibsonberg, Oh., Donna (Frank) Galiger of Porterfield, Paula (Bruce) Nygard of Niagara and Gary (Laura) Berger of Pembine; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and her husband, Donald, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald and a brother, Orville Saler.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 22 from 11 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. at Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home with Nancy Reese officiating. Burial was in the Niagara Cemetery. Memorials can be made in her name to the Whitetail Ridge Wing at Maryhill Manor.
