Clara Boivin, 91, of Marinette passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Newcare Convalescent Home in Crivitz.
Clara was born to Bernard and Maude (Lagant-Tugaw) Dittman on April 3, 1922 in Marinette and was raised in Crivitz. Clara married Harold Boots Boivin on November 30, 1939 in Crivitz, Wisconsin and he preceded her in death on May 15, 1998. They resided at 1420 8th Street in Marinette most of their married life.
Clara was a Boy Scout and Girl Scout leader while her children were growing up and was an officer in the Merryman School PTA. She was employed for many years as a waitress at Red and Eds Supper Club and Reinkes Restaurant.
She was very involved in church activities at both Sacred Heart and Holy Family Parishes. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Altar Society and church card clubs and did volunteer work as needed. She loved gardening and was very proud of the results, particularly with her roses and gladiolas. She also enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and spending time with her family.
Clara is survived by two sons, William Bill (Ruth) Boivin of Mesa, AZ and their children, Michael (Dawn) Boivin, Amanda (Vince) Johns and Kimberly (Brian) Hermans and Daniel (Kathy) Boivin of Tempe, AZ; three daughters, Shirley Prudhomme of Crivitz and her son, Tom (Cindy) Prudhomme, Marilyn (Tom) Caylor of Pulaski and their children, Eric (Kathleen) Caylor, Carl (Theresa) Caylor and Kurt (Melody) Caylor and Louise (Jim Orlowski) Boivin of Menominee and her children, Cindy (Shawn) Berg and Joseph (Ashley) Dudkiewicz; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Clara was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Octavia McPeak; a sister, Betty (Art) Weidemeier; a stepbrother, Dorsey (Martha) McPeak and a son-in-law, Wayne Prudhomme.
Friends may call at Thielen Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 27 with a Vigil Service held at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Parish Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Taylor Street in Marinette at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28 with Reverend Joseph Dorner officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Menominee.
