John S. Kennedy, 76, of Marinette passed away on Saturday, May 18 at home.
Born Feb. 22, 1937 in Melrose Park, Ill. to the late Charles and Myrtle (Brady) Kennedy, he attended Proviso High School.
On March 27, 1954 he married Darlene Ferguson in Clinton, Io. and in 1970 moved his family to the Porterfield area where he resided for the rest of his life. He worked as a delivery driver for Hostess Cakes for years and then Firestone in Marinette until his retirement in 1999. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
His wife of 59 years, Darlene survives, along with three daughters, Catherine (Jeff) LaCombe and Karen (Paul) Rojek, both of Marinette and Kimberly (David) Mottl of Ocala, Fla.; two sons, Robert (Kathlene) of Marinette and Jeffery (fiance, Amber) of Porterfield; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, John Michael and three brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Thielen Funeral Home, Marinette on Thursday, May 23 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church Marinette on Friday, May 24 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jon Tesch officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery.
