Is Global Warming a Hoax?

Global warming is fake and we must stop the spreading of this rumor. Global warming really isn’t that bad. The earth is just going through a cycle of slightly warmer temperatures, and there is no need to worry because it will go away.

Earth’s temperature has been going down lately but rose 1% in the last year. According to Gale: Opposing Viewpoints, in the last 100 years the average temperature only went up 1.3F. Just recently temperatures even went down. From 2007 to 2009 the average temperature went down .9F. So this is part of a cycle. The heating of Earth is just part of a cycle. According to the Harris-Mann Climatology, the earth goes through long cycles of heating and cooling. During the past, 4,500 years researchers have found that there have been 75 major temperature swings. So this is simply because of a cycle of temperatures.

Dr. Wheeler of the University of Kansas during the 70’s predicted the temperatures that we feel today, and all climate changes since then. He also discovered that approximately every 102 years there is a significantly warmer or drier period. We are just at the start of a heat cycle that is predicted to peak in the early 2030’s. Then these temperatures will go away and we could have a seriously cold and dry environment.

So what are people going to think in the future? Will they all believe in global cooling? Now that you know global warming is fake, you must stop spreading this rumor to others immediately.

Identity Theft Stops Now

Identity theft is one of the United States biggest crimes, according to the FTC or the Federal Trade Commission. In 2012 the FTC reported identity theft as the number one customer complaint. There are many reasons this needs to stop. Here are some of them.

First of all, many people suffer because they lose their jobs and houses because someone stole their identities. According to the FTC, most people that have their identity stolen is because they lose their credit or debit cards, or even leave the ATM with their credit card number on it. Some ways people get their identify stolen are losing their wallets, stolen mail, a data breach, computer viruses, and even dumpster diving.

Secondly, according to the FTC, some people that lose their identity never get a good paying job. Lots of people will have their credit cards denied because of it. Sometimes people spend over 1,200 hours trying to clear up the huge problems.

Finally, lots of people go insane because their lives are ruined. Most people have everything taken from them. They try so hard to get their stuff back, but they can’t. Most of the time people think the person is just a big money waster but really it can be someone else.

So these are my reasons identity theft needs to be stopped. First, many people lose jobs or houses. Secondly, people will sometimes never get a job. Finally, many people go insane because they think their lives are ruined. So that’s why identity theft needs to be stopped.

Baseball in the Olympics

Baseball should be put back in the Olympics. According to the International Baseball Federation (IBAF), the worldwide governing body for the sport of baseball, there are 188 countries that play professional baseball. Baseball should be put back in the Olympics. It is one of the world’s most popular sports, the success of the World Baseball Classic, and other countries play baseball, not just the United States.

My first reason, baseball is one of the world’s most popular sports. According to Fredrick Wertz, a sports writer for the Bleacher Report, the IBAF consists of 118 members. Compare to rugby, a sport which will replace baseball i the 2016 Olympics, the International Rugby Board only consists of 98 members. I’m not saying rugby isn’t an Olympic sport; rather baseball should be. Also, ping pong is an Olympic sport. Ping pong! Baseball’s just as popular in Japan or any other country that plays ping pong. Not saying anything bad for ping pong fans out there, I’m just saying baseball deserves to be back in the Olympics. According to nylisons.miblogs. com, not very populated countries like Bhutan, the Marshall islands and Palau all play baseball. That shows that baseball is popular all over the world.

Second, the success of the WBC, World Baseball Classic, has many to believe baseball should be put back in the Olympics. Since its creation in 2006, the WBC has helped develop popularity of baseball around the world. Millions, even billions, of fans crowded around their TVs to watch their nations compete. According to Bleacher Report, the 737,112 attendees at the 2nd WBC in 2009 was an 8.5% increase from 2006, and international television ratings soared as well. ESPN Deportes saw outstanding ratings, and the finals in 2006 and 2009 still stand as the two most watched sports broadcasts in Japanese television history. The success of WBC shows that baseball draws the attendance and has the popularity to be an Olympic sport again.

Finally, other countries play baseball too, not just the U.S. One of the main reasons baseball got cut from the Olympics is because the MLB won’t pause their season so players can play in the Olympics. Just because the MLB won’t pause their season doesn’t mean the Japanese, Cuban and European leagues that ARE willing to pause their season so players could compete in the Olympics. For this reason the IOC, International Olympic Committee, should show some sympathy and consideration for other countries in which baseball plays a much greater role in their country.

These are my strongly positioned reasons to put back baseball in the Olympics. Baseball is one of the world’s most popular sports, the success of the World Baseball Classic, and other countries play baseball, not just the United States. My solution is to put baseball in the Winter Olympics! You can use a couple of domes to play in. You could also do the same thing for American football in the Summer Olympics. If not, the United States can use amateur and college players to form rosters. Much like what was done in other sports, most notably hockey. The United States won the gold medal in hockey in the Winter Olympics. I hope you found my topic and reasons to reinstate baseball in the Olympics!
