Gary M. Kalbes
Gary M. Kalbes, 71, of Deerbrook, formerly of Pound died Saturday, May 25 at Kindred Health Care-Eastview after a nine month battle with cancer.
Born on Dec. 18, 1941 in Pontiac, Mi., son of the late Mike and Anna (Cudnohufsky) Kalbes, he was a 1960 graduate of Coleman High School.
Following graduation he enlisted in the United States Army and served one year before joining the United States Air Force until his discharge in 1965. He was employed at Green Bay Packaging in Green Bay as a boiler room operator for 35 years retiring in 2000. A member of the Parrish Highlanders ATV Club, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and taking photographs of deer and bear.
Survivors include two sisters, Betty Ann (George) Rathsack of Suring and Darlene Komorous and partner Robert Smetana of Placitas, N.M.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 30 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home. Burial will take place in the Town of Brazeau Cemetery.
