THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Lesili Cissy Rose, 69, of Menominee passed away on Monday, May 27 at the Luther Home in Marinette.
Born on July 12, 1943 to the late Tauese Tamasea and Fiaapia (Osasa) Mata`afa in American Samoa, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed playing Bingo and games on the computer. She played the Ukulele and also liked camping.
She is survived by a son, Jr. (Kristi) Rose of Marinette; daughters, Tammie (Wade) Schafer of Big Rock, Tenn., Jacqueline Rose and Jessica (Marty) Gauthier, both of Menominee, Juliette Sword of Honolulu, Hi. and Lanie Ashworth of San Diego, Calif. She is also survived by seven sisters, Toto`a, Uomamae, Emi, Ofusina, Vaolele, Talaleu and June; two brothers, Piliati and Pino and 11 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Worma and sons, Derek Kaililaau and Falaniko Nusi Falaniko and two brothers, Taifau and Laki.
A memorial gathering will be held at her son, Jr.s house on Thursday, May 30, 432 Carney Blvd., Marinette from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Cadieu Thielen Funeral Home is assisting the family.
