Crivitz Plans Bang-Up Weekend For Fourth

The Village of Crivitz plans for a bang-up Fourth of July celebration have been finalized. The weekend starts with a parade sponsored by the American Legion at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 4, followed by a fun filled day at Crivitz Community Veterans Park. Anyone wishing to enter a float in the parade should contact Legion Commander Claire Bolander at 715-854-2676.
There also will be a downtown flea market in progress all day. Events at the park include food by VFW Post 2063 at the John Shaffer Pavilion and DJ music by the American Legion. There will be bouncy houses and other fun for youngsters at Littleland Playground starting at 1 p.m.
The day ends with fireworks at 10 p.m. on July 4, with Saturday, July 6 as a rain date. Fireworks will be shot from Spur Street (east of the park), and will be visible from the park. Snacks and light refreshments will be offered by the Crivitz-Stephenson Historical Society during the fireworks. Fireworks display is being handled by Spielbauer Fireworks.
There will be fireworks again on Saturday, July 6 at the Stephenson Town Park on High Falls Flowage at the conclusion of a water ski show by Twin Bridge Water Ski team and at Lake Noquebay County Park following a Crivitz Ski Cats Water Ski Show.
The public is invited to two days of softball at the Crivitz Adult Mens Slow Pitch Softball Tournament at the baseball field at the intersection of Louisa Street and Hall Avenue on Friday evening, July 5 and all day Saturday, July 6. Teams wishing to register should contact Dale at 715-927-1909 or Alex at 715-927-3181. Both ski shows start at 6:30 p.m. There is no admission charge except for the $3 per vehicle parking fee at Lake Noquebay, but free will donations are welcomed by both ski teams. Food and beverages will be offered for sale. Those attending are advised to bring lawn chairs.
Also on Saturday the VFW is hosting a Brat Fry at Witts Piggly Wiggly.
