Richard Leaveck, Sr.
Richard Leaveck, sr., 71, of Stephenson, Mi. passed away Friday June 7 at home.
Born on Feb. 18, 1942 in Stephenson, Mi. to the late James and Virginia (Bayee) Leaveck, on July 7, 1962 he married the former Shirley Anderson in Stephenson.
He worked for St. John Trucking for many years along with owning the Stephenson Family Restaurant with his wife Shirley for 32 years. He loved hunting, fishing and going to camp. Above all else, being with his family and grandchildren is what he enjoyed best. He was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley; two daughters, Sherry (Joe) Svinicki of Daggett, Mi. and Robin (Al) Macco of Stephenson, Mi.; a son, Randy (Tammy) of Stephenson, Mi.; a daughter-in-law, Pauline Leaveck of Stephenson, Mi.; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jim (Barb) and Joe, both of Stephenson, Mi.; four sisters, Harriett Tebo and Joanne Swille, both of Stephenson, Mi., Sally (Bob) Rivard of Daggett, Mi. and Frances Harris; adopted family, Dennis (Lori) DeMille, Michael (Ann) DeMille and Brian DeMille along with their six children.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Richard Leaveck, jr., two days prior and three brothers and four sisters.
Family and friends called at Precious Blood Catholic Church on Saturday, June 8 with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated for Richard, sr. and his son Richard, jr. with Fr. Corey Litzner officiating. Burial followed in Stephenson Township Cemetery. Anderson Diehm Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
