A time to gather and share memories will be held on Saturday, July 20 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Seefeld Funeral Chapels, 1025 Oregon Street, Oshkosh, for Walter J. Chip Callies, 67, of Oshkosh. He died Sunday evening, June 23.
Born on March 6, 1946 in Menominee to Walter B. and Margaret (Renner) Callies, he followed in the footsteps of his father and older brother as a master plumber.
He was employed by Reliable Rooting and Plumbing in Appleton as a master plumber. A member of Rustic Riders, he treasured his time on his Harley, traveling the highways and byways of Wisconsin with his buddies.
Survivors include a daughter, Jane (Tom Wisch) Callies of Gray, Ind.; two grandchildren; siblings, Richard (Ellen) Callies of Marinette, Jack (Dawn) Callies of La Verne, Calif., JoAnne Jones of Fort Worth, Tex., Margaret Callies of Menominee and Mary (Doug) Sieveres of Eagle ; special friends, Dominic Leitz, Summer Kalishek, Emma Kalishek, Jada Kalishek and Kyah Leitz and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding him in death were his parents, a daughter, Victoria Callies and his former wife and life-long friend, the mother of his children, Hallie J. Hruska.
