Katherine Helen Kutchie Kort, 95, of Shawano passed away Tuesday, June 25 in Green Bay, following a brief illness.
Born Nov. 26, 1917 in Shawano, daughter of the late John and Barbara (Brunner) Kort, she attended country schools and later attended Northeast Wisconsin Technical College.
She worked as a cook for Shawano High School and after several years of retirement, moved to Green Bay to help her nephew raise his son. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Shawano.
Surviving are a nephew, Robert Bob Kressin and a great-nephew, Andrew Kressin.
She was preceded in death by 15 brothers and sisters, Elizabeth Andrus, Joseph Kort, George Kort, Mary Schlosser, Frances Aschenbrenner, Tony Kort, Peter Kort, John Kort, Lawrence (Doc) Kort, Regina (Gina) Schneider, Bernard (Benny) Kort, Roman Kort, Gertrude Wittlinger, Vincent (Red) Kort and Margaret Kressin.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, June 29 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano. Fr. Len Evers officiated and interment was at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Relatives and friends called at the Church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service. Schroeder-Mickelson Funeral Service of Shawano was in charge of the arrangements.
