Edward G. Raygo
Edward G. Raygo, 85, of Menominee passed away Saturday, July 13 at Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette, surrounded by his family.
Born in Marinette on Feb. 20, 1928 to the late George and Emma (Pontow) Raygo, he graduated from Marinette High School.
He went on to serve in the United States Army at the end of World War II and in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He married the former Ellen Heraly and served as the superintendent of the City of Menominee wastewater treatment plant for 40 years. Following his retirement he enjoyed remodeling older homes and gardening in his greenhouse. A member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Menominee, he served the City of Menominee on the Board of Review and was involved in city affairs.
He is survived by his wife Ellen; a daughter, Eileen of Marinette; two sons, Tin (Judy) of Menominee and Mike of Marinette; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Floyd, Francis and Fred.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 17 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Menominee. Military rites will be performed at 6 p.m., followed by the funeral service with Rev. Lee Goodwin officiating. Burial will be Thursday, July 18 at 9 a.m. at Glenwood Memorial Gardens in Marinette with military graveside services conducted by the 20 Year Club. Anderson Kell Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
