THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Doris Marie Butler, 82, passed away on July 16 at Rennes Health Care Center-East, Peshtigo.
Born in Porterfield on Jan. 23, 1931, the daughter of the late Irona (Voelker) and Albin Butler, sr. of Harmony Corners.
She attended Plumb Elementary School, Marinette High School and Beautician School in Milwaukee. An avid Milwaukee Braves fan, she continued to follow the Brewers after her move to Peshtigo. She received wonderful care at Rennes and had many friends there. She especially liked their musical events and loved to sing along.
She is survived by her twin sister, Dorothy Shepard of Milwaukee; three sisters, Dolores Kramer of Tum Tum, Wash., Patricia Brendemihl of Kewaskum and Sandra (Frank) Mathy of Little Suamico; a brother, Albin, jr. (Sue) Butler of Snohomish; an uncle, Edgar Voelker of Porterfield and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Walter Shepard, Gordon Kramer and Arthur Brendemihl, jr.
A memorial service will be held at Thielen Funeral Home on Saturday, July 27 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Harmony Cemetery.
