Julie Kay (Olson) Schahczinski, 57, of Red Wing, Minn. died unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, June 18.
Born on April 8, 1956 in Menominee to Ottar and Kathleen (Callow) Olson, she graduated from Menominee High School in 1974 and attended Michigan State University.
On Jan. 8, 1977 she married John Schahczinski of Marinette and after living in Menominee, Appleton and Milwaukee, settled in Red Wing, Minn. in 1998. She will be remembered for her warm and compassionate nature, fun and mischievous sense of humor and great love for her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, John; a son, Jared (Miranda) Schahczinski of Red Wing; one granddaughter; a sister, Karen McCord of Wauwatosa and two brothers, Jim (Jean) Olson of Panama City, Fla. and Chris (Laura) Olson of Okemos, Mi.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A church service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 26 at the First United Methodist Church, 601 10th Avenue in Menominee with a luncheon to follow immediately afterwards in the church basement. Visitation with family will take place prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Memorials are preferred to the Goodhue County Humane Society in Red Wing.
