Suicide Prevention Walk Set for Sept. 7
Plans are underway for the 5th Annual Dickinson County Out Of The Darkness Suicide Prevention Awareness Memorial Walk on Saturday, September 7th at Iron Mountain City Park.
Organizers, Carole Waitrovich and Tina Tappy invite the community to register and take part in attendance to help raise awareness of mental illness, depression and suicide. Both lost their brothers to suicide.
The walk is for walkers and non-walkers from 9 to 10:30 am. Activities before the walk include horse riding, children's games, face painting, music, memorial quilt, pebble pool, awareness wristbands, raffle drawings, dove release. Educational packets will be presented to those in attendance and lunch will follow.
