Silver Cliff Fire, Rescue Picnic Huge Success
The Silver Cliff Fire and Rescue 36th annual fundraising picnic was held on Saturday, Aug. 10th at the Silver Cliff Memorial Picnic Grounds. A large crowd gathered for the parade that started at 10 a.m.
The 2013 Parade Grand Marshal was Gaylord King, a longtime resident of Silver Cliff and Town Chairman. He was chairman for the past 22 years until he chose to retire.
A first place trophy was presented to the Silver Stones 4-H Club for their parade entry Everyone Scores and second place winner was CNC Charters of Silver Cliff.
Among Fire Departments represented were Amberg, Athelstane, Grover/Porterfield, Town of Peshtigo, Town of Stephenson, and Silver Cliff.
General raffle winners were first prize of $1000 to Sandi Paulson of Oak Creek, second and $600 to M. Haessly of Kaukauna, third and $500 to Strong Chiropractic Clinic, Neenah.
Taking fourth and $400 was Kris Kinjerski, of Green Bay, fFifth prize of $300 went to Todd Tobison, Crivitz, and Nancy Nantelle of Green Bay took sixth place and $200.
Tracie Wood was the winner of the first 50/50 drawing receiving $875, and Gary Kossow won the second 50/50 drawing of $675. Brothers Ken and Bob Borkovetz won the horseshoe tournament and received items from Shirts and Things.
The fire department held a "water ball tournament" with 16 teams participating. First place went to Silver Cliff Fire, second to Athelstane Fire, and third to Town of Peshtigo Fire Department.
The Silver Cliff Fire & Rescue Auxiliary members thank everyone for helping make the picnic a huge success.
