THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Fred Leisner, 100, of Pound, passed away peacefully Friday, Aug. 16th at home in the loving care of his daughters and family.
The son of the late John and Agnes Leisner was born on Nov. 10th, 1912 in Marinette, he married Esther Kostreva on Sept. 8th, 1934 and dairy farmed at Westcott Lake in the Town of Bagley until his retirement in the 60s. He then turned his attention to his orchards, vegetable gardens and huge pumpkins of which he was known to sell and display.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Esther; a daughter, Virginia Schneider and a son, Kenneth Leisner.
Surviving are 3 children, Norma (Paul) Kostreva of Pound, Barbara (Frank) Behrens of Carrollton, Tex., and Rachel (Greg) Kresse of Wausau; nine grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a half-sister, Angeline (Earl) Brickner of Green Bay and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at Rhodes-Charapata Funeral Home, Coleman, from 11 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 25th until A Reflection Time Ceremony beginning at 12:00 noon. Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 26th in the Town of Brazeau Cemetery. Donations may be sent to Unity Hospice in lieu of flowers.
