THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Walter Sonny Mattison, 72, of Pembine died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Aug. 13 at his home.
Born in Norway, MI, on Oct. 11, 1940 the son of Walter and Esther (Gustafson) Mattison, he graduated from Amberg High School. He loved to hunt and fish in his younger years, flew airplanes and enjoyed riding motorcycles.
He was an iron worker by trade and a logger for over 30 years and belonged to the Iron Workers Union Local Member #8, Milwaukee.
He is survived by his children; Steven (Teresa) Mattison and Michelle (Anthony) Holland; step-children, Gladys (Jerry) Ehn and Terrance (Mary) Barrette and a granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services were held at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17 at Messar-Roubal Funeral Home in Wausaukee with Pastor Don Landwehr officiating. Family and friends called from 3 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment was in the Amberg Cemetery.
Messar-Roubal Funeral Home of Wausaukee assisted the family with arrangements.
