Dale L. Behnke, 73, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 25th after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born on Feb. 25, 1940 to the late Louis and Beatrice (Harris) Behnke, he spent his childhood years in Peshtigo. He was united in marriage to his childhood sweetheart, Sandra Lee LaVallee and they enjoyed 32 years together before her passing in 1993.
He had a warm smile, quick wit and made friends working at Schroeders Flowerland in Green Bay. After retirement, he worked part-time at Dennys Super Value in Algoma until his illness. He was a loving father who was always there for his family and others.
He is survived by two daughters, Kristi (Dave) Nuttall and Doreen (Matt) Lesneski; two grandchildren who meant the world to him; two brothers, Robert (Loraine) Nelson and John (Linda) Behnke; loving in-laws; nieces; nephews and many friends, along with his special friend, Kaye Allen and her family.
Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N. Webster Ave., De Pere, on Thursday, Aug. 29th from 2 p.m. until time of service at 5 p.m. with Pastor Cheryl Weaver of Bethany Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Peshtigo.
