Loomis Historical To Host Picnic Sept. 28
Issue Date: September 4, 2013
The Sept. 5 meeting of the Loomis Historical Society is canceled. The society will host the Loomis Days potluck picnic on Saturday, Sept. 28 at the Town of Lake Hall beginning at noon. Those attending are asked to bring a dish to pass and their own tableware. Beverages will be provided.
Following the meal, Bill Jamerson, UP based author and songwriter, will present a musical program about Wisconsin lumberjack history. The title of the program is Its Daylight in the Swamps. With guitar in hand, Jamerson sings traditional lumberjack songs, tells stories and tall tales about life in the lumber camps. There is no charge for this presentation, but a free-will offering can be made to offset the cost of the program. Everyone is welcome to attend. For more information call Pat Kaufman at 715-854-2997.
