THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Marge Kiefer, 72, former Twin Cities resident, died Wednesday, Sept. 11 at Hospice of the Valley, Mesa, AZ. She was the daughter of the late Ervin and Irene Wos of Menominee.
A graduate of Menominee High School, she also graduated from St. Catherine College and the University of Minnesota. She was married to Jim Kiefer of Marinette and in July they celebrated 53 years of marriage.
She worked in the Minneapolis, Mn. area as an occupational therapist and in the real estate business. Her hobby was photography when a 4x5 camera was the norm, and she received several Minnesota State Fair Awards for her prints. Upon retirement in Arizona she became an avid reader of books.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons, John (Marida) Kiefer of Minnesota, and Bill (Jodi) Kiefer of Georgia; a daughter, Joan (friend Keith Adams) Kiefer of Texas; and two grandchildren. A sister, Muriel of Milwaukee also survives.
At her request, no service was held. In lieu of flowers or memorials she asks donations to the local Cancer Society and Hospice. She was beloved by all who knew her strength and spirit and she will be greatly missed.
