Joanne F. Baker, 76 of Clinton, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 5, at the Evangelical Home of Saline.
Born July 12, 1937, to Norbert and Blanche (Betters) Wood and on Nov. 17, 1956, she married Walter F. Baker.
A member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Clinton, she worked as an operator at Michigan Bell prior to her marriage, and then became a stay at home mother. She enjoyed reading, traveling, going on cruises and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons Walter Butch (Michelle) Baker, jr. of Tecumseh and Brian (Carol) Baker of Westland; three daughters, Pam Baker of Commerce Township., Jan (Michael) Erisman of Westland and Jill (Dennis Wenzel) Baker of Ypsilanti; a brother, John (Bonita) Wood of Madison; a sister, Kathy Hatton of Menominee; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild with two arriving soon.
The family received friends at St. Dominic Catholic Church on Saturday Sept. 7, from 10 a.m. until the time of Memorial Mass at 11 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Paul Ruddy officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan Heart Association or the Lenawee County Area Agency on Aging.
