Ina Esilda (Gyllenberg) Corey
Ina Esilda (Gyllenberg) Corey, 103, of Peshtigo, formerly of Stephenson, Mi., passed away Friday, Sept. 27 at Rennes Health Center-East.
Born on Dec. 24, 1909 in Menominee to the late Nils and Margareta (Sjodin) Gyllenberg, she grew up in Porterfield where she married Clifford Corey on Nov. 11, 1940. He preceded her in death on Sept. 6, 2005.
The coupled owned and operated Corey Implement which became Corey Napa Auto Parts until their retirement in 1974. They resided in Stephenson for 69 years before moving to Marinette in 1999 and then Rennes Health Center-East in 2006. She was a member of the Stephenson United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a son, Glen Corey of Peshtigo; three grandsons; a granddaughter; six great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Joyce Gyllenberg and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Family and friends called at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home on Tuesday, Oct. 1 after 4 p.m. until time of Prayer Service at 7 p.m. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 10 a.m. at Stephenson United Methodist Church. Reverend James Mathews officiated with burial in Stephenson Township Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to the Stephenson United Methodist Church in her memory.
