Issue Date: October 2, 2013
Hortonville is one of the top teams in the very tough Bay Conference. Everybody knows it and they came to town and proved it Friday night as they beat up on the host team Marines to the tune of 48-0.
The Polar Bears let the home crowd know what sort of night it was in for right away as Peter Van Beek took the games opening kickoff and brought it back 86 yards to set up the games first score two plays later, a one-yard dash by Alex Lasinski. By the end of the first frame, the gang from Hortonville found itself up 21-0.
They didnt let up though. Things got worse for Marinette in the second half and Hortonville pressed its advantage, scoring the games final points on another one-yard carry from Lasinski with just :17 left in the first half of play.
Statistically for Marinette, quarterback Marcus Maguire continues to do what he can, passing for just 15 yards in this one but rushing for 30 on seven attempts. Colton Dessart finished with 35 yards on nine carries.
