Ruth I. Peterson
Ruth I. Peterson, 80, of Porterfield, passed away Monday, Oct. 14 at Rennes Health Center-West, Peshtigo.
Born March 19, 1933 in Menominee to William and Dorothy (Skog) Trehey, she spent most of her life in Stephenson and attended the Longrie School. She married Irvin E. Peterson on Nov. 4, 1950 and they resided in Porterfield.
She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and enjoyed baking and cooking with them. Her Irish heritage was important to her and she took great pride in it. A homemaker she enjoyed gardening, canning and was always ready for a ride up north.
She is survived by four children, Butch (Theresa) Peterson, Debra (Michael) Ferdon, Darcy Diercks (special friend, Todd Hermes) and Corky (Sue) Peterson, all of this area; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Gerry, Lylene, Betty and Katie and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin, on Jan. 3, 2013; three sisters, Gen, Dorothy and Margaret and three brothers, Joe, Warren and William.
Friends may call at Community Lutheran Church in McAllister from 4 p.m. until time of funeral services at 6 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 21. with the Rev. Paul Hueter officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Memorial Gardens. Hansen-Onion-Martell Funeral Home is assisting the family.
