Elaine A. Chaltry, 87, of Menominee, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 20 at Rennes Health Center-East, Peshtigo.
Born March 14, 1926, in Milwaukee to Napoleon and Myrtle (Knutson) LaCombe, she grew up in Menekaunee and lived in Menominee for many years.
She was married to Roger Payton, and later to Merle Chaltry. She enjoyed gardening, baking, and spending time at home with her family. She is survived by her children, David (Kathy) Payton and Susan Erdman; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; five step-children, Cindy Chaltry, Debbie Wilde, Mark (Cindy) Chaltry, Pat Petzel and Bruce (Mel) Chaltry; 12 step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Joy (Don) Barstow, Darlene (Charles) DeCamp, Gerald (Jann) LaCombe and Diane (Joe) Kaufman.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Roger Payton and Merle Chaltry; brothers and sister, Bud LaCombe, Tom LaCombe and Gail (Rudy) Gross and step-grandson, Troy Chaltry.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25 at Hansen-Onion-Martell Funeral Home. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery.
