Barbara Ellen (Kunschke) Nernberger, 72, passed away Thursday, Oct. 17 with her family by her side.
Born the daughter of Gladys and Eldor Kunschke, in Shawano Oct. 15, 1941, she was a 1959 graduate of Shawano High School and married Eugene Knoke on Jan. 21, 1961. They first made their home in Shawano, then relocated to Green Bay. They had three children, Gina, Anthony and Rodney. She later lived in Crivitz where she made many friends.
She enjoyed Elvis, the Packers, and golfing, was very active, even with her illness, she golfed several times a week and attended exercise classes. She loved vacationing in Branson, Mo. and the two trips she took to Arizona.
Survivors include three children, Gina (Mark) Leahy, Anthony (Terry) Knoke, and Rodney Knoke and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Gladys and a sister, Renee Kunschke.
Family and friends called on Saturday, Oct. 19 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Green Bay from 10:30 a.m. until time of services at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
