THE CITY REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF AMERICA'S MOST DISASTROUS FOREST FIRE
Gwen Wesoloski, 79, of Menominee, passed away in her sleep Sunday morning, Oct. 27 at her Birch Creek home.
Born in Marinette on Nov. 28, 1933 to the late Rueben and Mabel Kalm, she was a 1952 graduate of Marinette High School and married Raymond Wesoloski on May 29, 1954 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marinette. The couple resided in Birch Creek (Menominee Township) since 1962 where they raised their family.
She worked for the Bell Store and Reds & Eds Supper Club many years ago, was a housekeeper for several local homes, enjoyed barbershop singing with the Sweet Adelines, was a member of the choir at Holy Redeemer Church and a member of the local Vasa Lodge. Her greatest joy was spending time with family members and special friends. She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, homemaking for her family and knitting and crocheting blankets for all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond, of Menominee; a sister, June Kalm, of Marinette; five sons, David Wesoloski, Dennis (Mary) Wesoloski, Thomas (Peggy) Wesoloski, Russell Wesoloski and Charles Wesoloski (Gail Leonhardt); three daughters, Kathryn (Mike) Hoeffler, Teresa (Don) Fox, and Tina Wright (Kerry Lingelbach); 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Rodney, Leonard, and Glenn Kalm.
Relatives and friends may call at Hansen-Onion-Martell Funeral Home, 610 Marinette Ave, in Marinette from 4 p.m. until time of vigil prayer service at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30, with Father Michael Ocran presiding. Visitation will continue on Thursday morning, Oct. 31 at Holy Redeemer Church in the narthex prior to 10 a.m. mass, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 a.m. officiated by Father Michael Ocran. Burial will be in Menominee Township Cemetery.
