Eunice M. Eunie Garant, 91, died Thursday morning, Oct. 24.
Born and raised in Marinette, she graduated from Marinette High School in June 1939 and worked at the A & W Restaurant and Lloyd-Flanders Industries.
For many years, she resided in Rockford, Ill., where she worked as a bookkeeper at Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company from 1946 until her retirement. She returned to Marinette in 2007, living with extended family, followed by three years at River Breeze in Wallace, Mi., before moving back to Marinette in recent months. Her spunk and unique sense of humor earned her many friends during these years.
She is survived by two special cousins, Mrs. Lorena Renie (Larson) Boneham and Mrs. Margaret Marge (Larson) Williams and many other cousins.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Obe and Ellen (Larson) Garant and a sister, Dorothy Garant.
Friends and family called at Hansen-Onion-Martell Funeral Home in Marinette from 3 p.m. until time of service at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 3. Rev. Keith Kolstad of Zion Lutheran Church in Marinette officiated with burial in Forest Home Cemetery near her family.
