Gloria Jean VanHefty, 68, of Peshtigo, passed away Thursday, Oct. 31 surrounded by her family at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay.
Born March 29, 1945 in Oconto to the late Lawrence and Helene (Koskie) Leigh, she married Richard Van Hefty on Aug. 28, 1965.
She loved baking and had a greater love for people, being adored by everyone she came in contact with. She possessed that special gift that made everyone refer to her as grandma. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, watching them play sports, spending time at the cabin and most of all traveling with her husband. She was an avid Green Bay Packers fan.
She is survived by her husband, Richard VanHefty, Peshtigo; two daughters, Wendy (Kevin) Harris, Peshtigo and Denise (Dave) Koronkiewicz, Peshtigo; a son, Scott (Lisa) VanHefty, Francis Creek; a sister, Janice Stock, Oconto; a brother, William (Barb) Leigh, Oconto and five grandchildren.
The family received relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto from 3 p.m. until time of Memorial services at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 4, conducted by Rev. Jack Harper.
