Barbara A. Wisniewski
Barbara Ann Wisniewski, 69, Pembine passed away Oct. 24 after a fall, in Cadott.
Born Sept. 18, 1944 in Milwaukee to Elaine Colby and the late Roger Colby, she grew up in the Milwaukee area, then met her husband Joseph M. Wisniewski and they were married Oct. 7, 1961. They were blessed with two daughters, Margaret and Valerie. Her husband was an upholsterer and she was a seamstress and to pursue their business, they moved to Unity in 1971. She worked for Kramer's Family Center in Abbotsford as a manager of the fabric department, sewing clothes to showcase in the store. In 1983, they moved to Pembine, starting up the upholstery business and "Barb's Basic Fabrics" in the front of the upholstery shop. When her store closed, she began working at Anderson Foods Grocery Store in Pembine where she was a cashier and then worked in the meat department. She was employed there for many years and when it became Pembine Food Depot, she became manager of the meat department.
She did many sewing jobs for people in town, making wedding dresses, christening gowns, and outfits for young girls showing horses and competing. She enjoyed the pool league she belonged to and the many friends she made. She also enjoyed craft projects, crocheting and cooking.
After her husband passed away on April 23rd, 1992 she found love again with Bob Bender who became her companion for many years. Due to health issues, she retired from meat cutting and was working at Wausaukee Composite until her health declined and was forced to retire. She then spent time with Bob and their dog Jessie. She loved her three grandchildren more than anything and loved spending time with them.
