Robert E. Schwartz
Robert E. Schwartz, 88, a lifelong resident of Porterfield, passed away Friday, Nov. 15 at Rennes Health Center-West.
Born Sept. 19, 1925 in Menominee to Otto and Nancy (Wickman) Schwartz,
he married Carol Mueller on June 17, 1950 at McAllister Community Lutheran Church. He was a dairy and beef cattle farmer. He also was a school bus contractor and worked for the Town of Porterfield in later years.
An avid hunter, he was a member of the Porterfield Sportsmans Club for many years. With his sons, he supervised the construction of several homes and a unique log cabin on their property with his family very important to him. He enjoyed playing cards with friends and family and was always interested in current events.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; four sons, Steven (Marilyn), Clay, Scott and Clark (Kim); three daughters, Cynthia (William) Harrison, Cheryl and Tina; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a step-grandchild; three step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elaine, of Milwaukee and Evelyn, of Porterfield; a brother, Harold (Nita), of Racine; nieces, nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and great-grandchildren, Natalie and Alex Timm.
Friends called at Hansen-Onion-Martell Funeral Home in Marinette from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at Porterfield Lutheran Church with Rev. Chad Anderson officiating. Burial was in Glenwood Memorial Gardens.
