Rebecca Lee (Becky Lewis) Wilz, 44, of Athelstane passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Nov. 15.
Born in Paynesville, Minn. March 27, 1969 the daughter of James and Joy (Lautenschlager) Lewis, she married Jon Wilz on June 4, 1994 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Darboy.
She was an avid gardener, enjoyed canning, spending time outside, was an excellent cook who didn't need recipes, loved spending Halloween with her nieces and nephews and most importanly, enjoyed being a mother and wife. She was a creative, talented person who could make anyone smile and will be missed.
She is survived by her husband, Jon; five children, Austin Daniel, Cole Allen, Michaela Rose, Stephane Heather, and Katelyn Geraldine; her parents, James and Joy; father and mother-in-law, Wayne and Linda Wilz; a brother, James (Dianne) Lewis; a sister, Karen Marie Vanevenhoven; brother and sisters-in-law, Jason Wilz, Amanda (fiance, Brian) Wilz and Alissa (Al) VanderVelden and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents and an uncle, John.
A Memorial Gathering was held from 2 p.m. until the time of a Celebration of Life at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at the Messar-Roubal Funeral Home. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial has been established. Messar-Roubal Funeral Home of Wausaukee assisted the family.
