Wausaukee School Sets Child Development Day
Wausaukee--Early Childhood Screening will take place at Wausaukee Elementary School on Thursday, Jan. 30.
Purpose of screening is to find out how a child is growing and developing, to connect parent and child with school and community resources and to answer any parenting questions/concerns.
The developmental screening provides an opportunity to determine the progress of a child in the areas of coordination, socialization, self-help, speech-language and thinking skills. Hearing will be screened and if a child is old enough, vision screening will be provided.
Testing takes place in the 4K classroom area with a play-centered approach. All participating children will receive a book, balloon and gifts to take home.
Parents may be in attendance throughout the screening. Many area organizations will have booths set up and will have a representative available to answer questions and/or provide information.
If a resident in the Wausaukee School District and have a child who will turn 3 or 4 years of age by Sept. 1, and who has not previously been screened, plan to attend. Letters will be mailed to prospective families in January. If new to the area, call Nancy in the elementary office at 715-856-5152, ext. 265.
