Gary L. Marineau, 71, of Marinette passed away Saturday Dec. 14 at home.
Born May 29, 1942 to the late Howard and Frances (Bashford) Marineau in Marinette, he graduated from Marinette Catholic Central High School in 1961. He married his high school sweetheart, Antonette Toni VanVooren on Jan. 25,1964 at St. Mary Church in Peshtigo. He worked at Marinette Marine and then Scott Paper/Kimberly Clark for 37 years until retiring as a millwright in 2003.
A member of Holy Family Parish, Great Lakes Sport Fishermen Club, Northland Beagle Club in Iron Mountain and Northeastern Wisconsin Beagle Club in Suamico, he was an avid hunter and fishermen. He enjoyed spending time at the cabin in Silver Cliff, but what he enjoyed most was time spent with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Toni; a son, Jeff (Sara) Marineau, of Green Bay; a daughter Laurie (Mark) Bernsdorf, of Kewaunee; two sisters, MaryAnn (Phil) Karlin and Beverly (Harry) Koushayan, both of Los Angeles, Ca.; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; six sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews;
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends called at Thielen Funeral Home on Wednesday, Dec. 18 from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Parish Our Lady of Lourdes Church Taylor St. Rev. Joseph Dorner officiated with burial in Forest Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund was established.
