Forfeits Galore As Crivitz Moves To 2-0; Bulldogs Win 48-30
Taking advantage of 9 forfeits, the Crivitz Wolverines leveled Lena-STAA Thursday 66-6 in M-O Conference wrestling. The lopsided win puts the Crivitz grapplers atop the conference standings at 2-0 with Coleman and Peshtigo sitting in second place at 1-0.
It was a quick match in Lena as only three bouts were actually wrestled. Double forfeits came about at 126 and 132 pounds.
Crivitz was awarded forfeits at 113 pounds to Hunter Tate, 126 Tim Sotka, Luke LaCroix 138, Nick Timblin 145, Bill Faulkner 152, Bill Retca 160, Nicholas Chapman 170, Arthur Dama 182 and Matt Tomaszewski 220.
The Wolverines saw 195 pounder Danny Tomaszewski pin Dylan Garrigan in 1:20 while heavyweight Austin Ducaine put Matt Crozier on his back in 1:15.
The lone Lena-STAA win came at 106 pounds where Haley Cruz pinned Jordan St. Germain in 2:46.
Peshtigo Knocks Off
Combining four forfeits with 4 wins via pins on the mat, Peshtigo registered a 48-30 M-O Conference opening win over visiting Gillett-Suring Thursday.
On the mats, the Bulldogs saw pins recorded by Hunter Madden at 132 in 1:18, DJ Messenger 1:32 at 138, Shane Marquardt 2:44 in the 160 bout and Michael Gable 3:57 at 220 pounds.
Taking home forfeits were Brian Krouth 106, Damian VanSleet 113, Bryan Shevy 126 and Andy Johnston at 285 pounds.
