Roger Gene Knope, 79, of Oconto Falls, passed away Jan. 27.
The son of Ervin and Olive (Olson) Knope, he served two years in the Army at Fort Hood, Tx. He married his childhood sweetheart, the former Gerry Niec and they were married 54 years. After service, he worked at REA for 20 years and was then a self-employed draftsman until retirement in Oconto Falls. He was a self-acclaimed world's best fisherman and enjoyed making miniature war airplanes. He was a gentleman and a gentle man.
He is survived by his wife, Gerry; a brother, Erv, Jr. (Shirley); children, Jeff (Annette) Knope, Green Bay, James (Sheri) Knope, LaCrosse and Mary Lee (Cam) Davidson, Bettendorf, IA ; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and three nephews.
Friends called at St. Anthony's Church, Oconto Falls on Wednesday noon, Jan. 29 until time of the Funeral Mass at 2 p.m. officiated by Father Joel. A private burial will be held at a later date.
