Lois M. Rasmussen
Lois M. (Schreivogl) Rasmussen, 80, of Menominee, Mi., passed away on Thursday, Jan. 23 at home.
Born Feb. 9, 1933 in Johnstown, N.Y., to the late Florian and Irma (Booth) Schreivogl, she married Al Rasmussen on July 18, 1953 in Menominee. She was an avid homemaker, good breadmaker, loved to paint and knit, knitting over 100 prayer shawls. She enjoyed playing volleyball, riding her bicycle and Fortune Lake Bible Camp Retreats in her younger years.
A member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, for over 50 years she was active in the choir and also belonged to a sewing group with friends. She had a strong faith and her family is what mattered most, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed dancing with her husband, was patriotic and loved everything American.
Survivors include her husband, Al, of Menominee; children, Debra (Kevin) Benson, of Wallace, Dale (Sue) Rasmussen, of Duluth, Minn., Dan, of Florida and Laura (James) Via, of Schofield; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, June and Doris and a brother, Jack.
Family and friends called at Emmanuel Lutheran Church on Saturday, Jan. 25 from 2:30 p.m. until time of a funeral service at 4:30 p.m. with Rev. Lee Goodwin officiating. Anderson Kell Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. A memorial fund has been established in her name for Fortune Lake Bible Camp.
