Roy Albert Beyer, 84, of Marinette passed away Jan.30 at Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette.
Born in Menominee on May 9, 1929, to the late Arthur and Aurora (Holappa) Beyer, he married Carryll Rawlings on June 2, 1951 in Marinette. She preceded him in death on July 8, 2002. He worked at the former Ansul Company in Marinette for 44 years, retiring in 1995. He also worked as a custodian for Bethel Luthern Church for 26 years, where he cared for it as his home. A member of Bethel Lutheran Church and the United Methodist Church Mens Group, his hobby was his family and friends.
He is survived by two sons, Roger (Noel) Beyer, of Lombard, Ill. and Rev. William (Karla) Beyer, of Fort Atkinson; a daughter, Liane (Glenn) Callow, of Menominee; six grandchildren; two sisters, Carol (Leonard) Bassen, of Menominee and Dorothy Perkins, of Marinette and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Shelly Ann Beyer; a brother, Clifford Beyer and three sisters, Mildred Behrens, Myrtle Varvil and Ruth Rewolinski.
Friends called at Bethel Lutheran Church on Sunday, Feb. 2 from 2 p.m. until time of funeral services at 5 p.m. with Rev. Scott Ehle officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Menominee. The Cadieu-Thielen Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Rescue Squad, the Salvation Army, or Bethel Lutheran Church.
