Carol Ann (Vogel) Diedrich, 66, of Manitowoc passed away Sunday, Feb. 2, surrounded by loved ones at her home.
Born Dec. 19, 1947 in Menominee, Mi., she married Hugo C. Diedrich, Jr. on Feb. 27, 1965 at St. Peter 's Catholic Church in Slinger.
She enjoyed spending time with friends she maintained contact with from various cities throughout Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. The couple moved to new communities as he operated meat departments in newly built grocery stores. After her husbands death in 2002, she moved to Manitowoc where she was able to spend time with two of her three grandchildren. She worked with the elderly and volunteered at St. Mary 's Felician Village prior to her retirement. She enjoyed reading, gardening, decorating for the holidays and time outdoors with nature and loved ones, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Kim Holstein (Christine Procida), of Collingswood, N.J., Kris (Jim) Skyberg and David Diedrich, both of Manitowoc; three grandchildren; siblings, Joan (Leroy) Schmidt, of Wisconsin, Nola Slavik (John Ruth), of California, Terry Vogel, of Montana, Mary Sager, of California, Linda McCrossin and Dennis "Sonny" (Olga) Vogel, both of Wisconsin and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Hugo; an infant son, Timothy; her mother, Lucille Vogel and a brother, Michael Vogel.
Relatives and friends may call at the church on Thursday, Feb. 6 from 10 a.m. until the time of a Memorial Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Marys Catholic Church, 15 S. Cty Hwy. J, Cato, with Rev. Richard Klingeisen officiating. The Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory of Manitowoc is assisting the family with arrangements.
