Leo S. Piasecki
Leo Bud Sam Piasecki, 84, Crivitz passed away with his family by his side Wednesday, Jan. 29 at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay.
Born Feb. 16, 1929 in the Town of Grover to the late Michael and Helen (Tomaszewski) Piasecki, he graduated from Crivitz High School in 1947 excelling in basketball and track and played baseball for many years for teams in the Wishigan League. He married the former Janet King on July 8, 1961 at St. Marys Catholic Church, Crivitz.
He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and bowling. He was a school bus driver for the Crivitz School District for over 30 years and enjoyed farming his entire life.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Janet; four children Michael (Kay) Piasecki, Daniel Piasecki and Julie (Dennis) Chilcote, all of Crivitz and Kathryn (Eric) Breland, Glendale; seven grandchildren and a sister, Diane (Don) Kotecki, Crivitz.
He was preceded in death by five sisters and one brother, Anne (Donald) Steffen, Sophie (Leonard) Du Charme, Elizabeth (Donald) Rost, Frances (Louis) Robin, Frank (Lucille) Piasecki and Victoria (Max) Nohlechek and four nephews.
Friends called at Rhodes Charapata Funeral Home, Crivitz from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31 with a Parish Wake Service at 7 p.m. Visitation continued at the Funeral Home on Saturday, Feb. 1 from 9 a.m. until leaving to St. Marys Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m., with Fr. Walter Stumpf officiating. Burial will be at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery, Crivitz.
