Lorraine E. Theis, 83, of Menominee, Mi., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 29 at the Luther Home, following a battle with cancer.
Born April 11, 1930, to the late Ray and Anne (LaSalle) Hebert in Menominee, she attended grade school in Omaha and then in Menominee. On Nov. 28, 1953, she married Raymond Theis at St. Annes Church in Menominee and he preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 2008. She was employed at Rydahls for 20 years and Saranac for 15 years.
She enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking, working on jigsaw and crossword puzzles, reading, sewing, especially childrens clothes and playing smear, pinochle and liverpool. She was a member of Holy Spirit Church.
She is survived by a son, Michael Theis, of Irving, Tex.; a daughter, Veronica Theis, of Menominee; a sister, Flora Dixie Anderla, of Menominee; two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Hebert, of Menominee and Grace Kobyoleski, of Cleveland and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Raymond, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Hebert and a sister, Muriel Becker.
Friends called at Thielen Funeral Home, Marinette on Saturday, Feb. 1 from 3 p.m. until time of funeral services at 5:30 p.m. with Deacon Steve Gretzinger officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Menominee.
