Wausaukee, Menominee Urged To Let Water Run
Residents of the Village of Wausaukee and City of Menominee are among many communities asking residents to leave their water running in an effort to prevent frozen water pipes.
The Village of Wausaukee Water Utility is ordering all residents and businesses to let their water run until further notice. They should let cold water run from any faucet in a stream of approximately 1/16-inch or the equivalent of a string of yarn.
They also alert water users that freeze ups will continue to be an issue throughout the Village. Customers will not be billed for extra water use. Bills will be averaged from past usage. Anyone with questions can be directed to the Village Office at 715-856-5341.
The frozen pipes in many areas are being caused by frost which has gone as deep as the water lines causing the pipes to freeze. That has been a problem in many communities, including Menominee and in the state.
