Martha C. Delzer, Oconto Falls, 86, passed away Wednesday morning, Feb. 19 at Sharpe Care.
Born Oct. 28, 1927 in Oconto Falls to Jacob and Marie (Selke) Reinert, she attended Oconto Falls Public Schools and graduated from Oconto Falls High School in 1946. On June 9, 1951, she married Alton Bill Delzer at Grace Lutheran Church in Oconto Falls. She was employed at Spiegals Grocery and Baumans Clothing in Oconto Falls and Country Gardens in Gillett.
A member of Grace Lutheran Church in Oconto Falls, she was active in various womens activities, taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, served as a Brownie Girl Scout Leader and worked as a crossing guard. She will be remembered as an avid bird watcher and flower gardener and also a great cook and baker.
She is survived by three children, Paulette Polly (Ken) Exferd, Oconto, Thomas (Kelly) Delzer, Pulaski and Kevin (Patricia Patsy) Delzer, Brookside; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Lorraine Rallof, Green Bay; a brother, Ronald (Lucille) Reinert, Thiensville; a sister-in-law, Margaret Peg Delzer, Howard; many nieces; nephews; cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alton Bill on Feb. 12, 2007; a son, Curtis (Gail) Delzer; two brothers, Norman and Edward (Beatrice) Reinert; three sisters, Edna Delzer, Selma (Fred) Beine and Helen (Fred) Schroeder and two brothers-in-law, Marvin Delzer and James Rallof.
Friends called at Jones Funeral Service in Oconto Falls from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22. Visitation continued at First Presbyterian Church, Oconto after 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23 until the time of the funeral service at 3 p.m. Rev. Craig R. Alwin officiated with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, Oconto Falls.
