Shirley Ann Treptow, 78, passed away Thursday, Feb. 27 at Bay Area Medical Center.
Born Aug. 1, 1935 in Marinette to the late Edwin and Gladys (Steer) Behrend, she graduated from Marinette High School in 1954. She was employed as a secretary at the Prescott-Sterling Co. in Menominee Mi. until her marriage to Kenneth Treptow on Dec. 1, 1956. The couple then farmed for 50 years before retiring. A member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Coleman, she was a poll worker for the Town of Grover for many years.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, listening to music, dancing, farming with her husband, Ken and especially driving tractors. She loved her grandchildren and they enjoyed visiting her.
She is survived by four sons, Gerald Treptow, of Green Bay, Thomas Treptow, of Peshtigo, Jon (Mae) Treptow, of Oconto and Tim (Tasha) Treptow, of Bonduel; four grandchildren; two sisters, Carroll (Donald) Treptow, of Wrightstown and Janet (Darryl) Polzin, of Green Bay; a brother-in-law, Roland Treptow; nieces; nephews; seven god-children and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth on Sept. 2, 2007; parents, Edwin and Gladys Behrend; in-laws, Arthur and Minnie Treptow; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Treptow; a brother-in-law, Clarence Polzin and sister-in-law, Bernita Polzin.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 8 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Coleman. Rev. Greg Stahlecker will officiate with burial in the church cemetery. Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
