Two Seek Peshtigo Mayor Post April 1
Mark Konrad, 59, 131 S. Beebe Ave., Peshtigo, is currently self employed as a consultant and has resided in the City of Peshtigo since 1991. He is married to the former Delores Dulak, a Peshtigo High School graduate, whom he met while a student at UW-Oshkosh. The couple has three adult children, and are members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Peshtigo. They also have one granddaughter.
Konrad was born in Oshkosh and graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in business administration majoring in accounting and a master of business administration degree with a major in finance, both earned at UW-Oshkosh.
He is a certified public accountant licensed in Wisconsin. He was the former chief financial officer, treasurer and vice president of operations and finance for Aerial Company Inc., Marinette, prior to its sale to Sally Beauty Holdings, Inc. of Denton Tex. in October 2010.
Previous to moving to the Peshtigo area in 1988 from Houston, Tex., he worked in financial management and auditing in various operations of Tenneco, Inc. in Houston, Tex.
His civic and professional involvement include a member of the Wisconsin Institute of both the Certified and American Institutes of certified public accountants.
Konrad is a past president of the Marinette Area Economic Development Corp., former director of the Marinette Chamber of Commerce and a member of the finance committee of the M&M Area Community Foundation and treasurer of Rotary International.
Among his hobbies are fishing, deer hunting, golf and hobby farming and the couple are members of Northern Lights Master Gardeners Association and Civil Air Patrol.
Catherine (Cathi) Jaye Malke, 57, resides at 630 Dishaw Ave., Peshtigo, and is currently a Marinette County Correction Officer where she works the night shift of three days on and three days off. She has served on the Peshtigo City Council for the past six years representing Aldermanic District 3.
For 12 years she was a coordinator of the Every 15 Minutes program conducted at various high schools to impress students on the dangers of drinking. The first such program held in Wisconsin was at Peshtigo High School.
She is a graduate of Peshtigo High School and attended UW-Marinette for two years. She is married to Carl Malke and the couple has three children and one granddaughter, and belongs to St. Marys Catholic Church in Peshtigo.
Her civic and community involvement include a 20 year member of the Emergency Rescue Squad holding various committee positions including chairman of equipment and maintenance, recruiting and scheduling, building maintenance, 50th anniversary, public relations and demonstration, Coats for Caregivers.
Malke is also involved in Crime Stoppers and National Night Out events in Marinette County.
Her hobbies include fishing, gardening and shopping.
